The sanding kit is a different job. Wet sanding removes far more material and can address damage a compound cannot — but it is a real skill and it is unforgiving. If you are not sure, do not start with sandpaper.

Questions before you buy

My nail catches on the scratch. Will this work?

Not on that scratch. If your nail catches, the damage is through the clear coat and there is nothing left for a compound to level — that needs touch-up paint. It will still handle the swirls and haze on the rest of the panel, so be clear with yourself about which problem you are buying it for.

Will it work on my paint color?

Yes. It works on the clear coat, which is the same on every color, and there are no dyes or fillers in it. Dark paint simply shows swirls more, so the difference looks bigger on black than on silver.

By hand or with a drill?

Either. The included pad is made for hand work and that is how most people use it. A drill is faster and more even across a large panel, not more powerful — the compound is identical in every kit.

Will it strip my wax or sealant?

Yes. Any compound removes what sits on top of the paint along with the defect. Correct first, then wax, seal or coat. The ceramic sealer in the formula leaves short-term protection so the panel is not left bare while you get to it.

What is the ceramic sealer for?

It is not a substitute for a real coating. It fills the gap between correcting the paint and protecting it, so a panel you just levelled has some water beading and gloss for a few weeks rather than nothing at all.

How long does the result last?

The correction is permanent — you removed the scratch, it does not grow back. New swirls come from washing, so how long the panel stays clean depends on how it is washed from here. Most swirls people blame on time came from an automatic car wash.

How much work is it really?

About fifteen minutes for a door by hand, longer if the paint is heavily marked. Work one section at a time out of direct sun. Doing the whole car at once and letting the compound dry are the two mistakes that cost people a result.

What if it does not work for me?
