The colour is the proof

Iron particles from brake dust and rail dust embed themselves in your paint and stay there through a normal wash. You cannot see them, but you can feel them.

This formula reacts with those particles and bleeds purple as it dissolves them. Nothing to guess at — where it turns, contamination was there. Within 2-4 minutes the panel tells you exactly how dirty it was.

Is it safe on clear coat, wheels and chrome?

Yes. The formula is acid-free and pH neutral, which is what makes it safe for regular use on painted panels, factory and aftermarket wheels, chrome and trim rather than a once-a-year treatment. Work on a cool, dry surface out of direct sun, and spot test anything unusual before the first full application.

Will it strip my wax, sealant or ceramic coating?

It is not a stripper, but any decontaminant will shorten the life of a wax or sealant it sits on. Coatings are more durable and generally unaffected. The usual order is decontaminate first, then wax, seal or coat — removing embedded iron before you apply is exactly what lets the new layer bond properly.

Nothing turned purple. Did it fail?

The opposite — it means there was little or no embedded iron on that panel. The colour is a reaction, not a dye. Wheels and lower rear panels usually show the most, roofs and upper panels the least.

How do I dilute it?

One part product to one part water for general paint decontamination. Use it neat on heavily contaminated wheels or on stubborn rail dust. That 1:1 ratio is why the bottle makes twice its own volume.

Can I use it on bare or polished metal?

No. Keep it off bare, raw or polished metal, unsealed aluminium and anything without a finish on it. It is made for painted, coated and sealed surfaces.

Does it smell as bad as other iron removers?

Iron removers work through sulphur chemistry, so there is a distinct odour while it reacts. It dissipates once rinsed. Work outdoors or in a ventilated bay, as you would with any decontaminant.

How often should I use it?

Two to four times a year for most cars, or before every wax, sealant or coating application. If you can feel roughness on the paint after washing, it is time.

What is the difference between the sizes?
